Meet our Youth Development Chair

Koren Long is a Radford alumna holding a B.S. in Communications. She is a Special Education Teacher Assistant for Chesapeake Public Schools inspiring to become a Special Education Teacher for mild and moderate disabilities. In addition to the ULHRYP, Koren is Miss American Nation 2021. In her free time, she enjoys singing-songwriting, participating in musical theater plays with the Hurrah players, photography, modeling, and reading empowering books.

As a member of the Urban League Hampton Roads Young Professionals, Koren is able to strengthen her skills in child development by participating in the Youth Development Committee. As our ULHRYP Youth Programs Chair, Koren has the expectation to engage with the youth by developing exciting educational programs throughout our community.

Koren’s goal is to learn about the Nulite youth mentoring program to add programming that will include youth and their parents. In addition, she would like to build collaborative partnerships with other youth organizations serving the community.
